I really enjoyed my time in Three Springs, Texas, so when I saw a new book in the series by the same name, I knew I had to read it. And I’m so glad I did.
The Rancher’s Secret Crush by Cari Lynn Webb follows Ryan and Elsie. As a child, Elsie spent summers in Three Springs and had a crush on Ryan. Then, she grew up, stayed away from Texas as she married, and focused on her career. Now, she’s divorced and back in town to help her brother while he recovers from an injury, and Ryan is there to help.
Ryan mostly grew up in Three Springs with his big family, who practically adopted Elsie and her brother when they were in town. Ryan had a crush on Elsie, too. Ryan went into rodeo and has been living the single life. But he’s back in town while his horse recovers from an injury, and while he doesn’t exactly want a relationship with Elsie, knowing she’s not in town for long, he’s definitely drawn to her and wants to help her as much as he can.
I really liked Else and Ryan—both separately and together. The two seem to truly understand each other and even complement each other. I enjoyed every scene with them together. Throw in Elsie’s nieces, and there was magic. Speaking of those nieces, they were total scene stealers.
The Rancher’s Secret Crush would have been a 5-star read for me, but I wasn’t a fan of the ending. They got the happily ever after, but I wanted more (or maybe it was simply wanting something different) for them.
The Rancher’s Secret Crush was an enjoyable, sweet romance. I’d totally recommend this book—and the series—to fans of contemporary Western romances, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series to be released.
