The Review

It’s so nice to be back reviewing books again. I went back to school to get an advanced certificate in Rehabilitation Counseling. It took about a year to earn, and now that I’ve completed my coursework, I’m back to reviewing books again!

Apple Dumpling Murder is the second book in Trixie Silvertale’s Christmas Catastrophe Mysteries, and through the second book in the series; t’s not necessary to read the first book in order to pick right up on this second book.

Cindy Clause is charming, and her innocence about the human world appears on the page beautifully. She isn’t dumb or annoying. She is genuinely nice and unfamiliar with human beings and our tendencies to lie, use slang language, and engage in naughty behaviors. Her social awkwardness with other humans is cute and funny, adding an extra touch to the story.

Keith, the male love interest in this story, was such a good guy. Cindy’s social faux pas didn’t bother him at all, and he found her charming and cute. I love that the author created a male character who can look beyond the exterior and see the person within. I also loved her servant fox. He was another layer of the story that I truly enjoyed. He was such a guardian to her. He was tough, no-nonsense, and followed the rules set in place to a T. He also had a soft spot for Cindy, which helped make me like him. I loved that she could tell who was naughty and nice, just like Santa himself.

Apple Dumpling Murder was a quick read, and I was entertained from the first page to the last. Buy Links
