The Description

Publication Date: April 3, 2023

It’s Simply Just Life – Life Decisions, Life Challenges, Life Experiences is a book of poetry and prose that captures the twists and turns of this journey called life. A deep, heartfelt personal exploration of life, this book invites readers to share and connect through their own reflections. A variety of topics, some of which we may be afraid to discuss, are covered in this collection. It teaches and reminds us that our joys and struggles are not unique to us.

Inspired by my stories and those of others, I expect readers to relate to at least one of the over 100 entries. With its blend of introspection and connection, readers should take a step back and reflect on their own journey. Explore the resilience, strength, and drive you need to handle unexpected life turns. This book celebrates storytelling’s power, while encouraging us to open our hearts and minds to stories told by others.

The Review

Christopher Jaggon has gathered his own experiences and stories from others who shared their own journey with him. Collectively, he brought these together in a unique first-person account of a young adult who struggled with finding love and purpose in It’s Simply Life: Life Decisions, Life Challenges, Life Experiences.

The book is arranged in short chapters written almost poetically. Each chapter allowed the narrator to express his innermost feelings, mostly of disappointment and heartbreak. The reader could deduce the narrator is about 20 and has loved and given deeply, yet has never gotten that same type of devotion reciprocated.

As a baby boomer, I read the words and felt the anguish, and I wanted to give advice and shake the narrator out of his emotional tailspins. Yet, I am the mother of young adults who have exposed themselves to trusting women, hoping to find a life partner. I have witnessed the careless ways modern women looked for perfection, then tossed aside a solid relationship for a fictional image of Mr. Perfect. I have watched how this undermined young men who were once confident into being insecure and depressed.

Mr. Jaggon’s style is fraught with stress and anxiety. But to those who have navigated the dating world for far too long, the heaviness of the writing will seem familiar.
