As wildfires threaten the town, Cheryl and Detective Evans race against the encroaching smoke to find Julia before it’s too late. When the investigation hits too close to home, Cheryl must face the reality that she may never be lost enough to escape her past.

With Lost, Like Me, author Ivanka Fear delivers the second installment in the Blue Water Mystery series. It can be read as a standalone since the author drops some clues along the way. However, in order to have a better understanding of Cheryl’s past, it is recommended to read The Dead Lie first.
The story unfolds with a mix of first-person and third-person narration, which is a bit off-putting because of a lack of consistency. Plus, it does seem rather unlikely that the police would allow a reporter like Cheryl full access to an ongoing investigation.
With that said, though, the story includes suspenseful elements, including an abandoned mine, drug deals, a biker gang, a missing baby, and a woman in love with the wrong man.
Lost, Like Me serves up a mystery about a missing woman and the efforts to bring her home while allowing the main character to keep her own secret.
