The Review

The Poseidon Project by E. William Podojil is the first book in The Herb Society Mysteries series and based on the depth of the story and the ending, I’m looking forward to reading more.

The Poseidon Project is an action, adventure, mystery, and LGBTQ+ romance story. Molly is the main character, and the others in the Herb Society are all senior citizens. There’s a good mix of young and old, and I enjoyed their interactions and how well they worked together.

Molly’s son Lukas, a successful IT executive with lots of money, steps up to the plate when his mom needs him most when she’s told her husband, the father of her three children, is missing while on a business trip to Dubai. Many of the facts don’t add up for her, and she and her friends are scientists, ex-teachers, and so much more, so they will ferret out the truth. Having Lukas along, as well as Taylor, the pilot whose Lukas’s romantic interest and who has a world of knowledge, is extremely beneficial in their circumstances.

There are twists and turns to the story along with clues, criminals, crimes committed, scientific facts made understandable for the lay person, good vs. evil, injuries, shots fired, friendships, family and friends and more. The story is fast paced with a good flow, and my stomach was clenching, my adrenaline rushing, and my hopes were high for the good guys to win. Through it all there’s a human side to the story and we learn some of their background and secrets. A wild ride that kept me riveted until I turned the last page.
