Escape into the world of Sally Page with the perfect armchair read! From the author of the phenomenal bestsellers The Keeper of Stories and The Book of Beginnings comes another novel that will warm your heart.
Can one small note give her the courage to find a new path?
Kate gave up her dreams of being a painter years ago. But six little words pinned to the bulletin board of her local café could change her path forever.
“To be, or not to be”—printed on an orange card with no explanation—appears one morning.
Each day, a new line from a different Shakespeare play is added, sparking curiosity throughout the café. Among the regulars is Bardy, a retired English teacher grappling with writer’s block.
As Kate and Bardy follow this breadcrumb trail, they discover a local community group encouraging people to rediscover their own creative spark—and the long—lost courage to chase it.
For Kate, their new group might just offer a second chance at happiness, if only Bardy can find the strength to share his story too …

A random bulletin board posting inspires two people to join a community group, breathing new life into their lives.
Author Sally Page leverages lines from Shakespeare’s plays as the foundation for Six Little Words. The concept is heartwarming, but the pacing is a bit slow.
At the center of the story are two troubled main characters. Although Kate has plenty to be happy about, she has simply lost her way to happiness. A broken marriage, grown children, and a bout with cancer pile up against her attempts at contentment. Bardy, a retired teacher, is crippled by writer’s block and loneliness.
Both drawn to the words on the notecards displayed daily at the local cafe, Kate and Bardy rediscover their individual creative sparks. In the process, the author provides an opportunity for them to have a second chance at happiness.
Six Little Words serves up a story about courage and new possibilities at any stage of life.

Sally Page is the author of The Keeper of Stories, which has sold over 650,000 copies in English. After studying history at university, Sally moved to London to work in advertising. In her spare time, she studied floristry, eventually opening her own flower shop. Her floristry experience offered a unique window into people’s lives, and she began to photograph and write in a series of nonfiction books about how flowers mark life’s most important moments. She also founded a fountain pen company, Plooms.co.uk.
