5-STAR REVIEW: REVENGE PUCK by Sara Ney

The Description

Michigan Ice Wolves: Book 1
Publication Date: August 5, 2026

“A deliciously spicy and totally addictive brother’s-best-friend hockey romance from Amazon and USA Today bestselling author Sara Ney. Packed with grumpy/sunshine banter, off-limits attraction and piping hot chemistry, it will have flying through the pages desperate for more!

When I catch my girl with my hockey teammate and best friend—scratch that, ex-best friend—I’m done playing nice.

Declan betrayed me. But I have the perfect way to get even: his sister.

Juliette is sweet, bookish, gorgeous… and completely off-limits.

Fake dating her should be easy. A little wining and dining, a little harmless flirting, and I’ll get revenge on the guy who wrecked my life.

But Juliette throws me completely off my game.

Beneath her button-up shirts and wide eyes is the sexiest and most fascinating woman I’ve ever met. All good-girl by day, lacy underwear by night.

She sees right through my bad attitude… and somehow likes me anyway.

Suddenly the one thing worse than losing my best friend, would be losing her.

I’m desperate for revenge. But hurting Juliette? That’s a penalty I just can’t take…

Utterly unputdownable, irresistibly steamy, and guaranteed to make you swoon! Fans of Kenna King, Hannah Grace and Chelsea Curto will fall head over heels for Revenge Puck.

Tropes:

The Review

From the opening scene featuring a cheating girlfriend and his best friend, hockey player Aaron Bishop has no plans to forget the betrayal.

In fact, author Sara Ney uses that as a spicy foundation for Revenge Puck. Aaron has the perfect opportunity to get even by hitting on his former best friend’s little sister.

It’s clear from the beginning, though, that Aaron is one of the good guys. That’s part of what makes his fascination with Juliette so interesting. She captures his attention with her heartwarming personality, but the passion simmering beneath the surface blows his mind.

Full of heat and humor, this sports romance practically melts the ice with all the sizzling chemistry between the two main characters. As the first in the Michigan Ice Wolves series, there’s more to come featuring these characters.

About The AuthorSara Ney is the USA Today bestselling author of sexy sports and contemporary romance novels. Her books have been translated in many foreign markets including Germany, Italy, France and Poland—to name a few.

When she’s not writing banter-filled love stories, she enjoys scouring thrift stores, decorating for the holidays, and planning her next travel adventure—because honestly, that’s the only time she has the bathroom to herself.

A self-proclaimed “Cool Mom,” Sara shares her home in the Midwest with four young adults and a fiancé who insists on behaving like a romance hero in real life. The man does dishes, plans cute date nights, and gazes at her as if she weren’t occasionally unbearable.
Sara loves a slow-burn, a witty comeback, and a good plot twist.

Amy Wilson
My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
