Although the second book in the series, enough backstory is provided that the reader will understand what happened before. The pacing is quick and draws the reader in from the first chapter, and doesn’t let go until the end. Those are my kind of books!
When I read books that deal with the military, the main male protagonist is typically in the service, and the female protagonist isn’t. So, it was a nice change of pace to see a female character in the military and as the lead.
Laci is a real woman with real insecurities, like most women, but she is kickass. She is strong physically, emotionally, and psychologically. Although many other women dislike her because they are jealous, Laci relies on her best friends to lift her up and be her rock when she needs them.
The story had a fantastic flow. The dialogue was natural and well-written, with no awkward moments in the plot to confuse the reader.
With a strong female lead, a fast-paced plot, and relatable characters, cozy readers will adore Charm City Spouse’s Club.
Pamela Kyel was born and raised in Edgewood, Maryland—north of Charm City. It’s a running joke when you live near a large, well-known city—you tell people that’s where you’re from. So, unofficially, she’s from Baltimore! Since her spouse’s retirement from the military, they call Wisconsin home, where they have two daughters and two cats, Daisy and Ernie.
