The Description

Cat Café Magical Mystery Series: Book 3
Publication Date: March 20, 2024

Windsor witch Amber Eldritch is a baker with a problem. Her cake customers keep dying!

When the local florist is left pushing up the daisies at a party on the River Thames, it looks like she’s been strangled. But why has a crumb of Amber’s lemon-sponge been lodged in her throat? Solving this mystery will be no piece of cake!

Investigating the murder isn’t the only thing on Amber’s mind this warm July. Her magic training is dead in the water and she’s dreaming of being normal. Trouble is, there’s a magical chicken living in her shed, her talking cat-turned-bunny can’t stop craving carrots, and she’s just acquired a pretend vampire boyfriend. With all that going on, cooking up clues to catch the killer will be the cherry on top.

If you like crumby puns, unexpected twists, and a dash of romance, you’ll love this paranormal tale in Rosie Reed’s humorous Cat Café Magical Mystery series. Buy Steeping Brew Tea today. It’s a blooming mystery! The Review

Steeping Brew Tea by Rosie Reed is the third book in the Cat Café Magical Mystery series. It’s a cozy paranormal mystery set in England that kept my interest throughout. There are colorful characters, especially those who are Beings of Magic.

There are murders to solve, and amateur sleuth Amber is right by the coppers’ side gathering clues to figure out whodunnit. One of those coppers is David. Amber would love to be romantically involved with him. But is the feeling mutual? Multiple stories are related, and the story has a good flow, which happens over a short timeframe of less than a week.

It was nice to return to Windsor, but even better, there was the crossover to Maiden Upon Avon, where we meet up with Amber’s cousin Evelyn and her love interest, DI Alex. There are clues to collect and suspects to be interviewed to figure out whodunnit. Amber always seems to be one step ahead of both David and Alex in gathering the evidence and figuring out what’s essential and what isn’t. There is magic, tea, food, small businesses sprinkled throughout, and plenty of animals. There is a nice closure, but the ending felt rushed.

Steeping Brew Tea is filled with magic, mayhem, murder, and several Beings of Magic. Grab a cuppa, sit back, and relax as you enjoy figuring out whodunnit.

About The Author

I love writing, daydreaming, and creating stories. I often write for fun, even when I’m not planning on publishing. But it’s also wonderful to share my stories with you!

I’m a massive Agatha Christie and Terry Pratchett fan, so writing paranormal mystery comes instinctively! I love the understated gentle charm of cozies, and it’s always such a pleasure to spend time in the company of the wonderful sleuths and magical characters that my fellow authors create.

Writing the English Village Witch Cozy series helped to keep me sane during the very strange year of 2020. Evelyn and Alex have done a tremendous job of protecting my mental health, and it’s my pleasure to share this comfort with you.

I do hope you’ll enjoy escaping into the beautiful surroundings of Maiden-Upon-Avon, and having some fun with Evelyn and all the other magical beings who live there! So treat yourself now by taking the phone off the hook of life, and soaking in the bathtub of the English countryside for a while!
