Home only for the holidays…
Or here to stay?
Widow Daisy Stanley desperately wants her adorable—if exuberant—triplets to be part of Violet Ridge’s annual Christmas play. She just wasn’t expecting this much chaos—and from the looks of it, former air force officer Ben Irwin wasn’t, either! But when the play’s director is forced to bow out, Ben and Daisy find themselves volunteering to rescue the production. Now there’s no avoiding each other, and between frosted cookies, snowball fights and plenty of holiday merriment, her kiddos are quickly stealing his heart. The only problem is that he’s winning hers, too…

Tanya Agler has quickly become a favorite author after I read her Rodeo Stars of Violet Ridge series. When I saw that she had a new spin-off series, I knew I needed to pick up the first book, The Triplets’ Holiday Miracle.
This book follows Ben, whose sister was in one of the Rodeo Stars books, and Daisy. Ben has recently returned to Violet Ridge after being discharged from the Air Force. He’s having trouble finding his way and decides to get involved in the community by working behind the scenes for the annual Christmas play. The director needs to go out of town for a family emergency, and Ben ends up in the director’s chair.
On the other hand, Daisy is a relatively new widow with triplets and is trying to make the holidays special for them. The kids have parts in the Christmas play, and Daisy is doing what she can to help with the production. She gets thrown into assisting Ben when he takes over directing. And, of course, this being a romance, sparks begin to fly between them.
I liked both main characters and understood Ben’s lack of direction when faced with civilian life following a lengthy military career. While I couldn’t connect on the same level with Daisy’s life change with her husband’s passing and having to raise the kids on her own, I could empathize with how difficult the change in circumstances could be. The confirmed bachelor falling for the young widow with relatively young kids worked for me.
My only real complaint is that these kids are seven years old but weren’t always portrayed as such. This is probably more of a “me” problem as I often don’t connect with kids in stories. But in this case, the triplets will sound like mini-adults one minute, and then they’d turn around and do something a toddler would do. I felt like I was having whiplash with their characters. But honestly, it didn’t detract too much from the romance and, in some ways, enhanced it, so I can ding the rating a little and move on.
The Triplets’ Holiday Miracle was a good start to a new series and a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. I enjoyed revisiting Violet Ridge and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
If you enjoy small town, clean romances and want a dash of Christmas joy, I highly recommend picking up The Triplets’ Holiday Miracle.
