The Review

Love & the Divorce Lawyer by Barbara Newhart was so good that I stayed up way too late on a work night to finish it.

The sparring between the two leads, Josie and Richard, was so much fun! Josie kept him on his toes and gave as good as she got. I laughed out loud at their banter and rooted for Josie to “get” Richard.

I wasn’t initially sure about this book because of the title Love and the Divorce Lawyer. Is this going to be about couples fighting? Yes. Are there going to be emotional scenes? Yes. Am I going to like the book? YES! The book is all of that and so much more.

The author’s storytelling was excellent, and I was engaged from start to finish. Even though the book dealt with heavy themes, the author wrote in a light-hearted way that was enjoyable.

I am thrilled that another book appears to be in the works or already written. I’m excited to see what happens next.
