The Description

Publication Date: October 26, 2023

Get your claws into this fiendishly funny new picture book from David Walliams and Adam Stower – the sequel to Little Monsters!

Furball is a loveable little yeti on his first day at Monster School. He can’t wait to learn how to be scary, but it’s hard when you look like a cuddly toy.

When the big monsters at the school make fun of Furball, Howler the little werewolf comes to the rescue. Together, can they prove that little monsters RULE?

A feel-good, funny story, packed full of monsters – BIG and SMALL!

* Perfect Halloween Picture Book – From Sunday Times bestselling author David Walliams

* Ideal Halloween Gift and Keepsake – Perfect for adding to a Halloween basket!

* Parent & Educator Approved Quality – The story is aligned with EYFS guidelines to encourage imaginative play and social-emotional learning

The Review

David Walliams’ books fall smack dab in the middle of “late elementary boy humor”. Of course, all types of children may fall in love with his storyline, bursting with words to create a boisterous read-aloud. Little Monsters Rule! certainly punches the reader with dramatic antics from the start.

Adam Stower illustrates the cutest little yeti named Furrball, wide-eyed and innocent, as he heads to his first day of school. But Monster School is filled with nasty monsters ready with pranks around each corner. Poor little Furrball tries to keep up his enthusiasm. Just when you think he may leave his first day without one positive experience, he meets Howler, a misfit werewolf. Together, they turn the horribleness around.

A lot is going on in both the text and the illustrations. Coupled with the need to hold out the belief in the characters turning their mean spirits around, I would suggest a starting age of 9 years old for this one.
