A Clay Wolfe/Port Essex Mystery Series: Book 6
Publication Date: August 13, 2025
What happens when a spy, a retired thief, and a person in the witness relocation program end up in the same coastal Maine town?
Nothing, unless a man using an alias washes up on shore and threatens to tear the idyllic nature of said town apart at the seams. Baker & Wolfe are pulled in when Peter Angel claims that his brother was deathly afraid of the water and would not have voluntarily been out on a boat leading to his accidental drowning.
Clay Wolfe, Baylee Baker, the gang, and Port Essex become embroiled in their hottest and deadliest mystery yet. Will the spies, informants, and thieves be exposed in time before the killers can finish the job that they have begun?

The action kicks off with a dead body in the latest installment of the Clay Wolfe/Port Essex Mystery series.
Author Matt Cost ratchets up the tension in Glow Trap. While Clay Wolfe and Baylee Baker are no strangers to danger, this time around, they are in the crosshairs.
The investigation into the dead man uncovers unexpected information. With a documentary film crew dogging their steps, Clay and his team face the biggest challenge of their careers.
As the final installment in the series, the author pulls no punches and includes an almost fatal vehicle accident and a shootout. With a satisfying conclusion that not only offers closure from the past but ties up all the loose ends, the series wraps up effectively.
From a character standpoint, the various subplots are well-developed and make the people relatable. I especially appreciated the epilogue.
Glow Trap delivers an action-packed mystery featuring familiar characters.
