The Description

Agent Nichelle Wilkinson: Book 1
Publication Date: April 22, 2026

A killer stalking little children in the peaceful suburbs. And a rookie FBI agent desperate to prove herself in her hometown.

Special Agent Nichelle Wilkinson has always had to fight for her place in the world. Growing up bouncing between foster homes after a tragic accident took her twin sister and decorated beat-cop father, she’s learned to be scrappy.

With a specialism in forensics, Nichelle made a name for herself in the Outer Banks as a seasoned crime scene investigator. But now, she’s back home in Philadelphia to hunt a killer. Eleven-year-old Jenni Croft was stolen from her bed, a prayer card with a chilling message left amongst her pink sheets. Nichelle knows what it’s like to be forgotten and alone and she’ll never let that happen to Jenni.

When the investigation throws her together with her father’s old partner, she realizes the full story about the day her father died is darker than she ever imagined. Torn between the pressure of the case and digging into her past, Nichelle knows she needs to prove herself now if she’s ever going to live up to her father’s name.

As a surprise eyewitness tip off takes Nichelle and her team to an abandoned building on the wrong side of town, Nichelle will have to surrender herself to the shadows to find a depraved killer. And maybe the part of her that died with her family fifteen years ago…

Stolen Grace is the first in an unputdownable new thriller series. Fans of Lisa Regan, Elle Gray and Kendra Elliot will be totally hooked!

The Review

Author B.R. Spangler launches a new series full of suspense featuring newly hired FBI agent Nichelle Wilkinson.

Set in Philadelphia, Nichelle returns to her hometown in Stolen Grace. Her first case throws her in the deep end with a series of missing children later found mutilated.

Nichelle is also driven to find out what happened 15 years ago when her twin sister and parents were killed. However, personal research takes a back seat as Nichelle tries to decode the killer’s message left at each scene.

Full of suspense, the investigation takes various twists and turns as the body count rises. The emotional aspect of her job hits home as she has to break the news to hopeful parents that the child is never coming home.

Readers familiar with the author will appreciate the cameo appearance of Detective Casey White, who has her own thriller series. It’s easy to predict that Nichelle’s series will have the same success.

Amy Wilson
My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
