I was a little worried going into this book as I hadn’t read the first book in the series, but I was pleasantly surprised. The story was easy to follow, and the characters were so easy to connect to. I was concerned when Kat kept telling the origins of words, but it quickly grew on me. I was even more excited when I was convinced that I knew the killer, only to be completely off the mark. I went from skeptical to fully invested in no time and finished the book within a day. Chao was able to walk the line between cozy and a true mystery masterfully, and I enjoyed every minute.
With twists and turns and plenty of laughs, The Mortal Enemy Murder Club will leave you guessing, “Hu done it” right until the end.
