The perfectly twisted word-of-mouth horror phenomenon that set the internet on fire.
When Eamon and his two closest friends, Caroline and Mark, journey to Addington Isle, they hope to explore the island that inspired their favorite book, Winterset Hollow-a timeless tale about a tribe of animals preparing for their yearly end-of-summer festival. But when the trio break into the author’s apparently abandoned estate, they discover that much of what the world believes to be fantasy is real, and that the truth behind their beloved story is darker and more dangerous than they ever imagined. In fact, making it through the final chapter might just cost them everything.
How do you celebrate Barley Day? You run, friend. You run.

A beloved children’s book leads to a horrifying experience for a young man inspired by the tale.
Author Jonathan Edward Durham serves up a horror story in Winterset Hollow that makes Alice’s adventures look like child’s play.
At the center is a young man named Eamon, who, along with two friends, travels to Addington Isle. Interspersed within the pages, readers will find a story within the story that details a cast of animals preparing for an annual celebration.
The story takes on a horrifying slant as fantasy comes to life, creating a slasher-type experience full of unexpected twists.
Winterset Hollow unfolds an intricate plot building on the tradition of Barley Day.

Jonathan Edward Durham was born near Philadelphia in one of many satellite rust-belt communities where he read voraciously throughout his youth. After attending William & Mary, where he received a degree in neuroscience, Jonathan waded into the professional world before deciding he was better suited for more artistic pursuits.
He now lives with his partner in California where he writes to bring a unique voice to the space between the timeless wonder of his favorite childhood stories and the pop sensibilities of his adolescent literary indulgences. His debut novel, “Winterset Hollow,” an elevated contemporary fantasy with a dark twist, is mined from that same vein and currently available everywhere.
