Sam Quinton: Book 5
Publication Date: August 14, 2024
All Lorie Jones wants is a little help with her divorce. Some extra information, a bit of ammunition to take into court against her no-good husband. And when she hires the biggest and best investigation firm Kansas City has to offer, that’s exactly what she gets. But after their operative wraps up Lori’s case, he decides he doesn’t want to move on, and Lori soon realizes that she’s got an even bigger problem than she had before, one that threatens her privacy, and maybe even her life.
It’s up to Sam Quinton, one-man detective agency, to take on the largest firm in the business, and as Sam digs into the background of Lori’s harasser, he soon finds something bigger, and much more dangerous, than one overzealous guy who just can’t let goc
Private investigator Sam Quinton typically stays away from divorce cases, but as a favor to an old friend, he finds himself caught up in a mystery.
When Lorie Jones hired the biggest and baddest investigation firm to help with her divorce, she paid for a service, not a stalker.
Author Kevin R. Doyle delivers a fascinating David vs. Goliath tale in Private License. As the fifth installment of the Sam Quinton mystery series, it features the trademark action and adventure, along with a bit of snarkiness. It can easily be read as a standalone, but you don’t want to miss out on the others.
This time around, Sam taps into his resources to find out more about the harasser and uncovers a powerful threat. He has to figure out how to diffuse the situation while ensuring his client’s safety.
The compelling writing style, coupled with realistic characters, makes this series one to savor. Regardless of how many full-body pullups Sam can do, he has plenty of attitude. Plus, there’s something to be said about the familiar setting of Missouri.
Private License features a former wrestler turned PI who knows how to close a case, even if he has to crack some heads in the process.
A high-school teacher, former college instructor, and fiction writer, Kevin R. Doyle is the author of numerous short horror stories. He’s also written three crime thrillers, The Group, When You Have to Go There, and And the Devil Walks Away, and one horror novel, The Litter. In the last few years, he’s begun working on the Sam Quinton private eye series, published by Camel Press. The first Quinton book, Squatter’s Rights, was nominated for the 2021 Shamus award for Best First PI Novel. The second book, Heel Turn, was released in March of 2021, while the third in the series, Double Frame, came out in March of 2022. The fourth Sam Quinton book, Clean Win, will be released in March of 2023.
