As a child, Rob Roozeboom’s diagnosis of muscular dystrophy altered his plans for the future. While unable to overcome physical challenges, a teen Christian weekend gave him a fresh perspective.
Roozeboom shares his story in Broken Still Chosen, a motivational look at finding hope in Jesus when you feel unloved, unseen, or forgotten. Organized into ten chapters, the book incorporates the author’s personal experiences to reinforce the key concepts.
The chapter focusing on how labels hurt stands out because of its impactful message. Cultural labels such as “disabled,” “damaged,” and “less than” promote a deceptive view of an individual. The author focuses on how God transforms cultural labels into positive spiritual ones.
The author incorporates countless examples of his physical shortcomings but counters them with the spiritual gifts that enable him to carry out his unique purpose.
Broken Still Chosen serves as a reminder that regardless of life’s struggles, turning to God will unlock a brighter future.
