The Description

A Tracker Novel
Publication Date: June 20, 2025

Local reporter and photographer Riley Phillips stumbles upon the unthinkable during a routine Human Remains Detection canine training session at an abandoned farm near Fredericksburg, Texas. When her cadaver dog, Milo, unexpectedly alerts, she makes a chilling discovery—a corpse with a bullet hole in the skull.

Riley’s nose for news is already twitching, but when the unidentified body is stolen, her journalistic instincts ignite. Who is determined to keep the victim’s identity a secret—and why?

Could her crime scene photos hold the key? What her camera captured propels the elite FBI Tracker Unit into action and places her squarely in the crosshairs of a killer. Learning the identity of the mystery man takes on an ominous urgency.

Can Riley and FBI Tracker Cody Lightfoot uncover the truth before a deadly plot unfolds—or will they become the next targets?

The Review

Riley Phillips knows her dog, Milo, has what it takes to do search and rescue, but she never dreamed a training session would lead to the discovery of a real dead body.

As a reporter, Riley is intent on discovering the man’s identity regardless of what the sheriff says. Author Anita Dickason delivers another installment in the FBI Tracker series with The Iris Code.

The adventure takes off as the body disappears overnight before it can be sent to the medical examiner. Riley’s crime scene photos just might hold the answer the FBI Tracker Unit needs.

The story incorporates fascinating technology regarding the unique characteristics of the iris of the eye, similar to a fingerprint. Combine that with the cartel, and there is plenty of action.

My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.

  1. Thank you so very much for your review. It is truly appreciated. This was a challenging book to write, even with my extensive law enforcement experience. It required considerable research. Again, thank you.
