An Ice Cream Parlor Mystery: Book 2
Publication Date: March 2, 2021
In this charming mystery series set in an ice cream shop, no case is too cold to crack!
Bronwyn Crewse is delighted that Crewse Creamery, the ice cream shop her family has owned for decades, is restored to its former glory and serving sweet frozen treats to happy customers in the picturesque small town of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. But when a big-city developer comes to town intent on building a mall, a killer with a frozen heart takes him out.
After literally stumbling across the body, one of Win’s closest friends becomes the prime suspect, and to make things worse, Win’s aunt has come to town with the intention of taking command of Crewse Creamery. Even though Win has a rocky road ahead to help her friend and keep her ice cream shop, it’ll take more than a sprinkle of murder to stop her from solving the crime and saving the day.
I was pleasantly surprised by how charming and funny A Game of Cones was. I loved the name. A throw-off of the popular series A Games of Thrones. Each is a completely different story.
I loved the plot. The characters were all engaging and funny in their own right. They all complemented each other.
This is a series but one doesn’t need to read the other books to follow along. They are each a stand-alone book.
I looked up Ms. Collette to find out more about her. I looked up the books she wrote prior to A Game of Cones. That one looks good as well. My to-be-read pile is never going down. She loves mysteries and I do as well. I love her writing style. She’s smart. Her writing entertains me and she’s funny. All ingredients for a successful novel.
If mysteries are what the reader enjoys, then I suggest getting this book.
