St. Benedict Series: Book 2
Publication Date: January 31, 2023
More secrets are about to be uncovered, beginning with the arrival of a handsome stranger, and the discovery of bones long buried beneath the river …
Leslie Moore is struggling to get through her last semester at St. Benedict High. Even her relationship with her boyfriend Derek is falling apart. But after receding floodwaters from the Bogue Falaya River expose the bones of a woman, Leslie becomes obsessed with tracking down the killer.
Sightings of an apparition haunting The Abbey send Leslie and her friends back to the scene of the horrors from last Halloween, but no one is prepared for what they find.
After a stranger—the handsome Luke Cross—arrives in town, another girl goes missing, and the sheriff suspects the newcomer is hiding something. Leslie believes the Devereaux family is connected to everything going wrong in St. Benedict. And she means to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.
Not all secrets can be kept silent. Some eventually find their way home.
When readers last visited the idyllic town of St. Benedict, evil had permeated the air. Residents are trying to deal with the deaths of two high school students and a woman from out of town.
In River of Wrath, the second installment in the St. Benedict series, authors Alexandrea Weis and Lucas Astor deliver another spine-tingling Gothic thriller.
While four girls are trying to keep a secret about their involvement in the events leading up to Beau Devereaux’s death, they all have been terrorized by his aggressive behavior.
This time, the discovery of a woman’s body in the river shines the light on the past, especially since estimates indicate she had been dead for 25 years. It turns out some very prominent people in town have been keeping secrets—and they will do anything in their power to protect them.
For an optimal reading experience, the books should be read in sequence. There’s no shortage of angst as the past and present eventually collide. The other question is, who will be lost as collateral damage?
River of Wrath focuses on a small town run by one family plagued with secrets. As those secrets unravel, the body count rises. It’s definitely a series with interesting characters who are trying to make sense of what is happening around them. On another note, there’s a bonus chapter included of the next installment titled River of Ghosts, and it sounds amazing.
