4-STAR REVIEW: LIGHT IT by Laetitia Andrac

The Description

Publication Date: September 20, 2023

Tired of feeling disconnected from your intuition?

Being connected online 24/7 leads to increased levels of stress and burnout, especially for entrepreneurs and leaders who often prioritise their ‘hustle’. Too often, entrepreneurs and leaders just like you look outside for validation.

The answer to your problems has always been there, within you.

The reality is that intuition in business isn’t just nice to have. It’s essential. Intuition helps us connect with creativity and make bold decisions that distinguish us from other entrepreneurs.

You don’t always need a breakdown for a breakthrough to happen. Through the five-step LIGHT framework, author Laetitia Andrac helps you reconnect with your inner knowing, wisdom and light. This book cuts through the noise, providing proven strategies, approaches and rituals to help you (re)discover harmony, creativity and inspiration. If you are an over-busy, overworked and overwhelmed entrepreneur (who is underwhelmed with the money you are making), this book is for you.

The Review

With a successful career in one of the best consulting firms in Europe, Laetitia Andrac was raking in a great salary and put forth as a model for others for her dedication and work ethic.

All the long hours eventually took a toll, causing her to experience burnout. She shares her journey in reconnecting with her intuition in Light It. Once she allowed the transformation to take place, she was able to explore her true calling.

With her book, the author focuses on helping other entrepreneurs prevent burnout and connect more with their true selves. Broken into two main parts, the first section combines intuition and strategy, while the second outlines the author’s LIGHT framework (Leaning in, Illuminating, Gathering, Honoring, and Transforming).

As with other self-help books, much of the content is a common-sense approach made unique through the author’s own examples. She has an interesting backstory that works well with the subject matter.

My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
