The Review

Christmas in the Crosshairs is a Love Inspired Suspense, Inspirational Romance by Deena Alexander. I’ve only read one other book by Ms. Alexander, Kidnapped in the Woods, and there were some connected characters to this story and the same Long Island setting.

Jaelyn and Adam meet under extenuating circumstances, and Adam thinks Jaelyn is her identical twin sister whom she didn’t know existed, but it turns out a lot about her life is a lie.

There is a lot of adrenaline flowing as Jaelyn and Adam try to piece crimes together plus stay alive after her twin ends up in the hospital, where they unexpectedly first meet.

Adam is a district attorney fighting for justice, and some of it’s personal. Several storylines are interspersed throughout and told with a lot of depth. The characters are well-developed and multi-dimensional. Things are not as they seem, and there is a lot to do for Jaelyn and Adam to stay alive and one step ahead of those who want them dead after getting back what they have of the baddies.

The story has so many twists and turns with high-speed chases, gunfire, lies, hidden identities, good guys vs. bad, friends, coworkers, and one surprise after another. The story has a fast pace but some loose ends, too. There are heartwarming moments as well as sad and heartbreaking ones. There is closure and a happily ever after thanks to the epilogue, but the ending seemed rushed, and the epilogue didn’t go far enough for me.

Christmas in the Crosshairs is filled with suspense and a lot of prayers. These good guys are the ones I’d want to have my back. Sit back and read this fast-paced story filled with layers of suspense.
