A Christmas Conundrum by Stacy Wilder is the third book in the Liz Adams Mystery series. I read the second book, Carmel Conundrum, and this was a nice continuation but is easily a stand-alone book.

A Christmas Conundrum is a fun holiday cozy mystery set in Charleston with many Christmas happenings and activities. We are reunited with many of the characters we’ve met before and additional supporting characters who add another layer to the story. Many crimes need to be solved, and Liz is a PI who is front and center along with her best friend, Lou, whose business is affected by the theft of the holiday decorations. Liz’s mom, Babs, is visiting for Christmas and helping at Lou’s business and sleuthing beside her daughter.

Multiple stories are told, and some political machinations and shenanigans are going on, but the current mayor and his wife are being hurt by some of the crimes as well. The story has a good flow as we go from one thread to another. Multiple suspects need to be ruled out as we find out whodunnit.

There were a few scary moments for Liz and her mom as they dug deeper than the cops to discover the criminal(s) behind the thefts and other crimes. I enjoyed the descriptions of the city as well as the small businesses. The whodunnit wasn’t a surprise, but the story wrapped up quickly at the end without the details I sought.
