The Description

Publication Date: May 14, 2024

After one too many terrifying encounters, Millie Masters sets up a hotline for women who feel unsafe walking home alone at night: Message M.

But very quickly she realises that there’s much more to be done to help the women who call in. Because the men just do it again the next night, and the next, and the next…

And when her own sister is assaulted on a night out, the temptation to take the law into her own hands becomes too much to resist.

Because M can also stand for murder…

A deliciously dark, hilariously twisted serial killer thriller with a villainous female lead. Perfect for fans of Bella Mackie’s How to Kill Your FamilyOyinkan Braithwaite’s My Sister, the Serial Killer, or anyone who enjoyed watching You.

The Review

Meet Millie Masters. You’d think with such a lovely alliterative name that maybe she would be the girl next door or the teen babysitter.

Nope. That is not the case. In fact, Millie falls into that shadowy area for characters who do really bad things for good reasons. Think of her as a vigilante for the single girls.

Author Eve Kellman serves up a twisty tale in How To Kill a Guy in Ten Ways. What starts as a hotline for women who feel unsafe soon escalates into darker territory when Millie’s sister is assaulted.

The revenge scenarios are designed to leave readers with goosebumps. Meanwhile, cool-as-a-cucumber Millie does her part to ensure the misbehaving men are permanently punished. As the body count rises, a savvy detective with personal ties to Millie gets a bit too close for comfort.

My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
