Can love make her stay?
Now that she’s finally back in Three Springs, Texas, Deputy Sheriff Lacey Nash wants nothing more than to reconnect with her nine-year-old daughter, Aspen. Carefree Caleb Sloan is just a distraction—even if he is surprisingly helpful. He not only pitches in to train Aspen for the junior rodeo contest, but he also makes Lacey feel both welcome in town and truly special. Though will that be enough for by-the-book Lacey…to let this fun-loving cowboy prove he’s ready for an instant family?

From Harlequin Heartwarming: Wholesome stories of love, compassion and belonging.
I’ve been a longtime fan of the Three Springs, Texas series by Cari Lynn Webb, having been along for the ride since the first book was released. So when I saw that A Proposal for Her Cowboy was coming soon, I knew I had to read and review it.
This book follows Caleb and Lacey’s love story. Caleb floated around the series as all his brothers found their matches—now it’s his turn. He’s always been the carefree, anti-commitment brother. He flits from part-time job to part-time job, never in a serious relationship outside his family. And then Lacey comes back into his life and turns everything upside down.
Lacey was a bit of a wild child growing up, much of it concerning her dare-filled friendship with Caleb. But then, circumstances made her grow up quickly, and she found herself serving overseas in the military. Now she’s back in Texas, starting a new job in the sheriff’s department and trying to get to know her pre-teen daughter. But Caleb is also back in her life and stirring up trouble and feelings she doesn’t want to admit to.
I really enjoyed both characters, but the two of them together was just magic. They challenged each other and brought out the best in the other. I loved that they started as friends, and the romance happened naturally, surprising both of them when it snuck up on them—it wasn’t forced, and I found myself sucked into the story, happily turning the pages to see how they would find their happily ever after.
I adore the setting of Three Springs, Texas. The entire recurring cast of characters is varied and entertaining. I especially enjoyed revisiting Caleb’s grandfather and uncle, who shine in all the scenes they’re in and make me smile. And Aspen, Lacey’s daughter, and Butterscotch, their new dog, were wonderful additions to round out the story and make everything feel a little more believable.
A Proposal for Her Cowboy is a very well-written and well-rounded contemporary romance. I was immersed in the story and couldn’t put down the book until I got to “The End.” I laughed and shed a few tears. The Three Springs, Texas series is one of my favorites and I hope there are more books to come.
