5-STAR REVIEW: THREE LITTLE LIES by Danielle Stewart

The Description

Publication Date: March 13, 2025

The first lie got him in trouble.

Our romantic date night was meant to fix us. But when my husband grabs my hand and says he needs to tell me something, I can tell from the look in his eyes that our marriage is in deep trouble.

The second lie ruined our marriage.

We’ve been here before. I wonder who she is. Is she younger than me? For a moment I wonder if I’ll forgive him. But I always do. It’s the only way to keep our family together.

But before I can say anything, my daughter calls, terrified. “Mom, I need you to come home. Please!”

The third lie could get someone killed.

Flashing police cars light up the nightmare that’s unfolding in my beautiful home. Blood is found in our garage and in an instant, I know what my husband has done.

I hold my children close as our perfect life shatters before my eyes. But as he is dragged away from us in handcuffs, something snaps inside of me. I’ve stopped at nothing to get the life we have. And even if my husband is a killer, I will do whatever it takes to keep my family together.

An absolutely gripping psychological thriller, Three Little Lies will have your heart pounding in your chest as you race through the pages until the final jaw-dropping twist. Fans of Jeneva Rose, Shalini Boland, Sue Watson and K.L. Slater will be gripped from start to finish.

The Review

Lies have an uncanny way of appearing like sensible options, only to detonate at uncertain times with plenty of collateral damage.

Author Danielle Stewart introduces readers to the Hargrove family in Three Little Lies. On the surface, Jo and Everett live in the right neighborhood with their children, Megan and Ashton, attending the right school. Everything seems perfect, with the exception of poor Ashton’s food allergies.

However, trouble is brewing under the surface with a pre-teen daughter already pushing boundaries. When Jo gets talked into hosting a 17-year-old exchange student, she’s hoping Eden will be a perfect role model for Megan.

The Hargrove family quickly buckles under pressure, depicted in various plot twists. It seems as if everyone except little Ashton is hiding something. However, the hidden lies threaten to destroy everything Jo has carefully created.

Thanks to clever maneuvering by the author, readers are kept guessing until the end. It’s a fascinating plot with all sorts of secondary threads woven in.

My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
