A shared heart for justice pulls them together, but is their love strong enough to survive their trials?

Dr. Carrie Vogel’s heart is shattered when her groundbreaking medical research is stolen and falsely credited to her ex-fiancé. With years of diligent work lost, she grapples with the disastrous turn of her career and leans on her faith for strength. When she learns that her Pinkerton friend Spencer Duval is on a justice-driven mission to her hometown of Cheyenne, she agrees to an arranged marriage to provide him with a cover story. But merely pretending to be in love with Spencer becomes increasingly difficult the more time she spends with him.

Spencer is determined to apprehend the ruthless murderer who killed his father years ago, but his quest ignites unexpected emotions—both for Carrie and about the desire for revenge that has dominated his life. As the web of suspects tightens, their futures hang in the balance, and they must learn to trust God’s plan as unexpected love takes flight.

Return to Cheyenne, Wyoming, with bestselling author Tracie Peterson for a journey of healing and forgiveness in this exquisite western frontier romance that will appeal to readers of faith-filled stories and When Calls the Heart.

The Review

A Pinkerton detective with a score to settle partners with a brilliant female doctor in a Christian historical romance set primarily in Cheyenne.

Author Tracie Peterson serves up the third installment in the Hope of the Cheyenne series with A Moment to Love. It takes place at the end of the 19th century when female doctors are considered an anomaly without the equal respect of their male counterparts.

Spencer Duval and Dr. Carrie Vogel bond over a shared love for amateur theater, but they also have a solid faith. When Spencer learns the man he has been hunting for decades is in Carrie’s hometown of Cheyenne, Carrie agrees to a civil ceremony so the townspeople won’t question his presence.

Carrie’s character offers insight into the treatment of educated females. Her research, sparked by her fascination of the human brain, is inspiring, but she’s unable to receive the credit she desires. She and Spencer, while entering a platonic arrangement, are in for some surprises with an unexpected attraction.

When faced with an opportunity for revenge, Spencer learns a valuable lesson about peace and forgiveness. His struggles illustrate how a narrow focus can often prevent seeing a future ripe with possibility.

My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
