From the publisher who brought you Fourth Wing comes your next romantasy obsession…

For nineteen-year-old Poet Graves, New Manhattan has always promised safety—if she obeys. Raised within the ruling Houses and betrothed to a powerful heir, she enters Amery Academy knowing her future has already been decided.

But Amery is nothing like she imagined. Its trials are brutal, its loyalties conditional, and its rules designed to expose weakness. As Poet struggles to survive, she must hide the truth that could get her executed: the storms don’t fear her—they answer back.

When a dangerous outsider from beyond the city walls enters the academy, Poet is drawn to him despite everything she’s been taught to believe. He threatens the life she’s been promised. And choosing him could cost her not just her future, but her freedom.

A gripping dystopian romance filled with forbidden power, ruthless challenges, and a heroine who refuses to burn quietly—perfect for fans of Divergent and The Hunger Games.

The Storm Breaker trilogy is best enjoyed in order.

The Review

A young woman defies the future path designed by her father as she heads to Amery Academy.

Author Nisha J. Tuli crafts a future dystopian world in Storm Breaker, where navigation in New Manhattan is much like current-day Venice. Vicious storms threaten the population, sending electrical pulses named Spark that will turn people into ash.

That is, unless you have the ability to channel Spark. Referred to as being a Keeper, these individuals are hunted and removed from the population.

As the female main character, Poet Graves knows every decision she makes will earn retribution from her father. He is a dreadful character who uses physical violence to exert control. She’s also smart enough to know she must conceal her abilities as a Keeper.

When Rook Athira shows up at the Academy, he causes quite the spectacle. He’s known as a Solitude, which is a group of people living in the Wastelands. He’s the epitome of everything forbidden. And he also has a secret.

Both characters find themselves in the center of drama and intrigue as alliances are built and loyalties are tested. Poet must put her trust in Rook in spite of not knowing everything about his past.

With fast-paced adventure and solid details supporting the plot, the author brings the world alive and engages readers until the cliffhanger. Warning: You will want to add the next installment to your pre-orders to discover how the characters get out of their current predicament.

Amy Wilson
My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
