4-STAR REVIEW: TWO MISSING GIRLS by Kerry Wilkinson

The Description

Publication Date: June 17, 2026

My husband told me he had a plan to solve all our problems. Then our little girl went missing. My heart was broken. And I wondered… what did he mean, exactly? What was his plan?

Because now another child is missing…

Seven-year-old Cassie disappears from her bedroom seemingly into thin air. Her parents, Jason and Holly Logan, are devastated. The interviews, the television appearances, the endless social media posts: it all comes to nothing. Cassie is gone.

Years later. Holly’s best friend’s daughter Aurora is like another child to her. But one morning, when Holly gently swings open Aurora’s bedroom door… there is no soft hair splayed across the pillow, no sounds of deep breathing. Aurora’s bed is empty.

Two families, torn apart by tragedy. What are the chances? Two best friends, their little girls missing: years apart, but at the exact same age?

The desperate search begins. The last photograph of Aurora is shared far and wide: grinning in her favourite pink hat, brown eyes twinkling.

There’s only one question on everyone’s lips: how has this happened again?

Then Aurora’s little pink hat is found in Jason’s wardrobe…

What if the truth about these two missing girls is closer to home than anyone thinks?

A completely unputdownable psychological thriller that will have you up all night, racing through the pages and desperate to know the final twist. Perfect for fans of Andrea Mara, Lisa Jewell and Shari Lapena.

The Review

The disappearance of their young daughter propelled Holly and Jason into the spotlight, where, after years of lucrative deals, they are now barely making ends meet.

When Holly’s god-daughter, Aurora, suddenly disappears, it brings all the memories crashing back to the surface. Author Kerry Wilkinson delivers a psychological thriller in Two Missing Girls that raises the question of who to trust.

The story unfolds with a past and present approach as Holly relates the loss of her daughter via an interview. It’s through these conversations that readers get insight into the main characters.

When Holly discovers Aurora’s hat among Jason’s things, suspicions emerge, leading to a shocking possibility. He’s not the most likable of characters, especially since he seems to be rather secretive.

About The Author

Kerry Wilkinson is from the English county of Somerset but has spent far too long living in the north. It’s there that he’s picked up possibly made-up regional words like ‘barm’ and ‘ginnel’. He pretends to know what they mean.

He’s also been busy since turning thirty: his Jessica Daniel crime series has sold more than a million copies in the UK; he has written a fantasy-adventure trilogy for young adults; a second crime series featuring private investigator Andrew Hunter and the standalone thriller, Down Among The Dead Men.

Amy Wilson
My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
