5-STAR REVIEW: ALL THE WAYS YOU SAVE ME by Melissa Wiesner

The Description

Sandy Harbor: Book 1
Publication Date: August 19, 2025

I stand on the beach and gasp as a wave knocks me over, bringing memories of the night Adam died: the pouring rain, my voice shouting his name. Suddenly, I feel strong arms pulling me from the water. A familiar voice speaks soothing words—and my heart explodes with unspeakable, unbearable hope. I’d know those ocean-blue eyes anywhere. It’s him. It’s impossible. It’s Adam.

Madeline and Adam were high-school sweethearts, and Jason their teasing best friend. The trio did everything together. But one awful night, they lost Adam in a terrible accident.

Ten years later, Madeline and Jason are planning their wedding. They’ll never forget Adam, even though Jason doesn’t like to talk about the past, and happiness feels just around the corner.Until Madeline is saved by a stranger on the beach. As she gazes at his familiar features, she could swear he’s Adam. Her Adam.

It’s been ten years since Adam died. And the man says his name is Garrett. He’s kind, but distant.

Maybe Madeline was confused. This handsome stranger saved her life—no wonder she felt close to him. The fact that his eyes, and lips, and dark wavy hair dripping with saltwater are just the same as Adam’s must be a coincidence. Right?

But a single summer can change everything. And as Madeline searches for answers, she’s forced to question everything she’s ever believed: about her own memories, the boy she once loved, and the life she’s supposed to live.

A totally addictive and unforgettable romance with a touch of spice, about the choices we make when it matters most, and how to follow your heart. Anyone who loves Carley Fortune, Colleen Hoover, or Paige Toon won’t be able to put this down!

Perfect for anyone who loves these tropes:

  • High school sweethearts
  • New/old flame
  • Love triangle
  • Rescue romance
  • Small town romance
  • Mistaken identity

The Review

Ten years after the death of her teenage boyfriend, Madeline still struggles even as she makes plans to marry his best friend.

When she sees a present-day video clip and claims the man featured in it looks exactly like Adam, Maddie is determined to learn more.

Author Melissa Wiesner weaves a dual storyline, switching smoothly between past and present in All the Ways You Save Me. The young love illustrated between the teens is evident as the author builds their relationship.

Maddie heads to the Jersey Shore, where she grew up, and runs into Garrett. Is he really Adam or just a doppelgänger? Regardless of his identity, the two generate instant chemistry. It is easy to connect with these characters as the story unfolds.

Amy Wilson
My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
