INTERVIEW: With Time-Travel Author Elizabeth Crowens Plus Giveaway!

Today, we welcome time-travel author Elizabeth Crowens to Novels Alive to find out a little bit more about her writing process. Welcome, Elizabeth!

How do you keep your written world from encroaching on your life?

The fact that the written world encroaches on my life makes me a writer. However, it doesn’t help much to cure my insomnia. Often when I’m the most creative is when I constantly wake in the middle of the night to resolve plot issues. How do I resolve that? Find time to make up for the loss of sleep with a nap.

What draws you to this genre?

This will be a two-in-one question and answer. Genre: Alternate history/Mixed-genre, which is a subgenre of Science Fiction/Fantasy/Paranormal, but it also has mystery elements, features one of the world’s most famous mystery writers, and these are also fictional diaries. I love Victorian ghost stories and love the time period, and I’ve always loved books, films, and television shows involving time travel like Time After Time featuring Jack the Ripper and H.G. Wells and Quantum Leap, the original with Scott Bakula.

Wow! I just said a mouthful.

For some reason, I can’t get away from historical novels, and currently I’m writing two historical Hollywood mystery series, one in the 1990s and one in the 1940s. However, those are more straightforward mysteries.

Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?

Five trips to Scotland and England, a month in various cities in Germany and Vienna, a quick stopover in Prague. Not long enough in Paris. A week in Russia on a tour. Mostly roughing it with AirBnBs except for Russia. I also ship back cases of books for research material which I can’t find in the States.

What can readers who enjoy your book do to help make it successful?

Spread the word. Post an excellent review on both Amazon and Goodreads, even if you won the book in a giveaway. I hate to emphasize algorithms and statistics, but that’s how their search engines work. The more reviews, the more an author will get discovered.About The Book

Time Traveler Professor: Book 3
Publication Date: August 16, 2021

The Time Traveler Professor

The secret diaries of John Patrick Scott pick up at the close of 1917. British intelligence sends Scott to work undercover in Berlin with his old partner-in-crime, Wendell Mackenzie, as his outside contact in Paris. Back on the Western Front, Scott discovered his ability to see the ghosts of the dead. Unsure if that’s a blessing or a curse, he takes this one-step further, employing spirits in the world of deception and intrigue. As the Russian monarchy crumbles and the Red Baron meets his final match, for Scott, true love is always beyond arm’s reach. His long-lost patrons and paramours, Sophia and Francois Poincaré, resurface but as potential enemies of the Crown.

Arthur Conan Doyle vows to retrieve his stolen time machine from H.G. Wells. Scott is still at odds with Doyle, who still refuses to publicly acknowledge his contributions for ghostwriting Sherlock Holmes, and Doyle encounters Harry Houdini in the most unlikely of places. Get ready for a wild ride.

Time Traveler Professor, Book Three: A War in Too Many Worlds, pairs murder, mayhem and mysticism in a mashup where The Lost World meets The Island of Doctor Moreau. Stay tuned for Book Four, The Story Beyond Time, the final book in this epic series.
