About The Book

Publication Date: October 4, 2022

On the family’s Brazos River Ranch in Texas, Avery Elliott helps run her grandfather’s commercial construction business. Raised by Senator Elliott, Avery has never doubted her grandfather is the man of integrity and faith she’s always believed him to be . . . until the day she finds him standing with a gun over the body of a dead man. To make matters worse, Avery’s just discovered a billing discrepancy for materials supposedly purchased for construction of the Lago de Cobre Dam.

Desperate for answers, Avery contacts FBI Special Agent Marc Wilkins for help. As Marc works to identify the dead man Avery saw, threats toward Avery create a fresh sense of urgency to pinpoint why someone wants to silence her. With a hurricane approaching the Texas coast and the structural integrity of the Lago de Cobre Dam called into question, time is running out to get to the bottom of a sinister plot that could be endangering the lives of not only Avery and her loved ones but the entire community.

The Review

Avery Quinn Elliott never expected that she would witness a relative holding a gun while standing over a dead body. However, she soon realizes her devout Christian grandfather is hiding something.

Author DiAnn Mills delivers a suspenseful story in Concrete Evidence. The main characters, all of whom are active Christians, rely on their faith when the going gets tough. Avery teams up with FBI agent Marc Wilkins to find answers.

Both Avery and Marc have a personal stake in the investigation. While Avery tries to determine her grandfather’s role and stop the danger, Marc investigates his father’s sudden death. Along the way, they discover a connection to a dam construction project that could put the lives of area residents at risk, especially with a storm looming.

The author ensures readers are kept guessing as different phases of the investigation are completed. Through all the adversity, Avery and Marc develop a connection based on their shared faith. This part of the story emphasizes the value of faith when facing challenges.

My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.
