I still remember the day when I was traveling for the first time to New York, America. It is a long 24 hours flight from my country. And the anxiety due to traveling for the first time was also at its peak. At that time, I didn’t know how to overcome this anxiety or distract myself at that specific time. Then my friend gives me a book to read named Five Feet Apart by Rachael Lippincott. And I remember that it was a rollercoaster ride. Still, in the end, I did overcome emotionally to distract myself from the anxiety that was attacking me for traveling for the first time. From there, my passion for reading books started. Till today I am always searching for new readers to carry with me whenever I get to travel. And the best thing I find about traveling is that I have a lot of time to read.
There’s something about the books that intrigue me, and I find it hard not to read. I often manage to make free time to read two or more books a week.
Books are also our ultimate best friends. Over the past few days, I’ve come up with a list of the best books to carry and read when traveling. Check it out, and if you think I’ve missed any real gem, then do let me know in the comment section at the bottom of the page.

1.  The Second Life of Mirielle West
Author Amanda Skenadore delivers a beautiful provoking story in the Second Life of Mirielle West. The title of the novel fits perfectly according to the storyline. In this leading actor, Mirielle suffered a significant loss. The story unfolded in a period when the medical field was still undeveloped. The whole novel revolves around Mirielle fighting Leprosy’s diagnosis and overcoming the new reality of life.
I would recommend you to give this book a shot while traveling. You won’t regret it.
2.  Silence in the Library
Ms. Katherine Shillman is a fabulous writer; everybody loves her style of writing. Her characters have a depth to them, and as the story proceeds, the characters unveil themselves a little at a time.
If you like mysterious stories, give it a try. You will love how every character has a remarkable presence in the novel.
3.  Love Blooms
Love Blooms by Jennifer Faye is an explicit small-town romance novel filled with interesting characters. Her writing style is beautiful, and her characters capture the heart instantly. The story unfolds as the firefight in the male lead and the baker in the female lead. What happens when both worlds collide. One of the seven books that I would consider carrying when traveling.
4.    The Devil and Heiress
Harper St. George writes The Devil and Heiress. For those who love historical romance, this book might be for you. The story follows when sparks fly between a runway heiress bargains with a devilish rogue to escape marriage of convenience.
I laughed and cried while reading this and can’t wait to read more in this series. This book marks a beautiful book for me.
This book is the one I would recommend carrying while traveling.
5.  The Kite Runner
The Kite Runner is one of my favorite author books Khaled Hosseini. Through Khaled Hosseini is a brilliant writer, he brings a compelling story for the new era of readers. This book surely needs to be added to the top five list of books to carry while traveling.
The story focuses on Hassan and Amir’s two inseparable boys, who grew up in Afghanistan and Kabul. At the same time, they cover a period of destruction and focuses on an unlikely friendship.
6.  The Beach
Alex Garland is the author of the book. This novel is set in Thailand and follows Richard, a young backpacker who discovers a hidden beach that is believed to be an exotic paradise. The thought alone makes you want to travel to an alluring destination. One of the best to read while traveling to Asia.
7.  The Anatomy of Desire
L.R. Dorn has written The Anatomy of Desire. I suggest this book to those who are a die heart fan of thriller/suspense. It is a modern tale of crime, blinding past, and the dark side of desire.
